My Envato is a small desktop application that provides quick access to the Envato marketplaces via the Envato API. It allows for browsing recent and popular files for all Envato marketplaces. Envato members can view their recent sales, earnings, and balance. This application also features Growl type notifications alerting Envato authors of new sales. I developed My Envato mainly for accessing my account without browser dependence. I have provided a download for the source code if other developers would like to make changes or improve My Envato. It was developed with Adobe Air 3.

User Guide

My Envato is a fairly simple application. Each time you open the application the main window will appear. The navigation menu is a gray panel on the left side of the window. The three navigation buttons are My Info, Marketplaces, and Settings. Clicking each navigation button, will reveal a panel with content of the corresponding button label name.

Content Panels

My Info

The My Info panel consists of a tabbed content area, containing a tab for Stats and Recent Sales. The Stats tab content displays your total earnings, total deposits, balance, and current commission rate. The Recent Sales tab content displays a list of your 50 most recent sales, with details for the time, amount, and item name of each sale.

Clicking the Marketplaces navigation button will toggle the visibility of a submenu containing buttons for the eight Envato marketplaces. Clicking a button in the submenu will load the new files and popular files of the selected marketplace in the Marketplace panel. The Marketplace panel consists of a tabbed content area, containing a tab for New Files and and Popular Files. The New Files tab content displays a list of newly uploaded files to the selected marketplace. The Popular Files tab content displays popular files from the selected site. Clicking on a file within either list will open a new window to show file detail.

The Settings panel has three fields: Envato Username, Envato API Key, and Update Frequency. You would enter the username you use to login to Envato marketplaces in the Envato Username field. Enter your API key into the Envato API Key field. You can generate an API key on your My Settings page, when accessing your account on an Envato website. Your username and API key allows My Envato to retrieve your account information. The Update Frequency field specifies in minutes, how often My Envato will update it's content without user interaction. The default time is 10 minutes. Make sure you click the Save button to save all settings.

New Sale notification

If My Envato detects you have made a sale since the last update time, the New Sale notification will appear near the bottom right corner of your screen. Click it to dismiss it. Closing the main window will not quit the application, so it will still run and update in the background.

Main Menu

When launching My Envato, the application's icon will appear the in the system tray. Right clicking the system tray will reveal the main menu options. The options are Open Main Window and Exit Program.

The main menu is the default application menu at the top of the screen in Mac OS X. To open the main window, select Open Main Window in the File submenu. Quit My Envato as you would quit any other application.

If you receive an error message, like the one shown in the image below, My Envato could not connect to your account. Make sure you have entered your username correctly and a valid API key in the settings panel. Lastly, check for network problems.
